Today I am thrilled to introduce you to our newest feature, TRAVELSHOPA COLLECTIONS – our online pop-up shop of this season’s must-have items.
Over the last 2 years, many of you have watched Travelshopa grow from an exploratory exercise in Singapore to a respected local shopping community now also covering Bali, Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong with our sights set on other destinations within the Asia Pacific region and beyond.
In between researching and writing about local shopping, there has been a little itch that needed scratching. To take things further than curating local brands, and drilling down to the products itself. To push our limits and create an awesome online shopping community.
Instead of opening a shop myself, I wanted to curate collections of products from some of our favourite Travelshopa brands and make them available to you. These products each tell a story, and are somewhat complementary of each other forming an overall look. Plus they are all things I would have (or already have) in my home or wardrobe.
As one collection, the first Travelshopa Collection is exclusive to our online store for a very limited period of time. Yes, we have created an online popup shop. So what you see today will be there until the next collection pops-up or things are sold out. To find our more about Travelshopa Collections you can read more on the site.
Some people have asked – why, and most commonly – how do you have the time to add such features to Travelshopa. I love what I do and this is simply an extension of curating shopping areas, and local brands. Now I get to shop as well!! This is one step closer to making Travelshopa a one-stop-shop for all things local shopping; from discovering the latest brands in various destinations, to getting to know the personalities behind the brands, and being inspired by the beautiful things that surround us in our hometowns and travels, and now adding them to our own collection of treasured possessions.
For now, Travelshopa Collections is a small collection (expect it to grow!!) available within Singapore only – and with free island-wide standard shipping. Soon you will be able to shop our Collections no matter where you are.
Before I sign off I want to express a huge thank you to all who made Travelshopa Collections possible. From my team, the featuring local brands and my family for putting up with my crazy ideas and keeping me going with their unconditional love, support and trust. I love you all to bits, and would have (bigger) bags under my eyes without your support. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Take a look around and get shopping before things sell out. Please leave us a comment, drop us an email, or tweet us your feedback. We hope you love #TravelshopaCollections as much as we do!
Happy shopping on Travelshopa Collections,

WHERE WOULD YOU LIKE TO GO SHOPPING?
They are the fastest walkers
"You can't leave SINGAPORE without supporting local labels which can be found around ORCHARD. They are mostly in multi-label departmental stores or boutiques."
LONDON. As the metropolitan capital that gave birth to fashion heavyweights such as Alexander McQueen and Stella McCartney, it’s only right, then, that the land of all things quirky has more indie boutiques than your legs can take you to.
We find out why Amanda, Travelshopa’s very own Account Services Manager, has London’s winding cobbled streets at the top of her shopping city bucket list.
A must-stop on your shopping trip
Carnaby Street, in Western Soho, for its eclectic and stylish vibe, outdoor pop-ups and independent designers! From top-notch vintage boutiques to hip record stores and fine indie threads, Carnaby Street has it all.
What will you be wearing?
I’ll probably visit in fall, so I’m seeing myself in a fun & flirty dress with ankle booties and a leather jacket.
Who would you like to take with you on your travels?
The very dapper Benedict Cumberbatch as my guide.
One essential you’ll pack for the journey
Just one? It’s a toss up between a camera and red lipstick!
Round 2 of Travelshopa Talks saw a brand new troop of local designers and retailers drop in at Travelshopa HQ for a lively morning of business chatter!
In a typical Travelshopa welcome, our guests were plied with baked goodies from Baker & Cook (if anyone’s asking) and freshly pressed coffee.
Travelshopa MD, Renee Lodens gave a quick introduction to Travelshopa, underlining our commitment to local businesses. Tips on how businesses can master offline and digital marketing and social media were delivered in the same breath, along with nuggets of advice on driving bigger brand awareness and keeping audiences engaged with good content.
That sparked quite an exchange amongst the local designers and retailers, who were eager to share their own brand journeys and knowledge. Questions streamed in about everything from the ambitious (how to go about increasing social media engagement) to the clear-cut (how to ace Instagram). The diversity of opinions made for an exciting opportunity for local businesses to gather and exchange insights on how to keep the local shopping community thriving.
We’ve always dreamt of building a tight-knit community of local businesses and we’re ever so grateful to the local designers and retailers for their support and willingness to share this pursuit and keeping the dialogue going!
If you’d like to join the conversation, we’re marching forward with Travelshopa Talks #3 on the 8th of August! RSVP here.
