The Attaby Collective, Haji Lane
We interrupt your everyday routine to bring you some celebratory news. Singapore-based womenswear label, Attaby will be hosting a collaborative pop-up throughout the month of May (7th May – 4th June 2016) and it’s going to be one hell of a retail therapy party. Bringing on a strong independent lineup, The Attaby Collective aims to unite an intimate gathering of design-centric businesses to deliver a punchy alternative to mainstream retail. These include homegrown Singapore brands such as Attaby and Maison by Amanda Dyer and multi-label outfits such as Maissone and Madie Moo that curate a niche selection of international indie labels.
Founder and Creative Director of Attaby, Claire Chahill is the brains behind this new venture. “Having run my own standalone pop-up events, I wanted to share this success and my audience with likeminded, design-focused independents that really have something excellent to share,” she says.
Collectively, they present a quintessentially indie-minded approach to retail, where shoppers can meet with designers and retailers and spark conversations about their work. The excitement of a pop-up coupled with the intimate setting of a boutique concept provides a unique shopping experience fuelled by a warm-hearted sense of community. The pop-up’s location on Haji lane also sets it snug in the belly of Singapore’s arts and cultural enclave — the perfect spot from which to enjoy a few pleasure-filled hours of shopping.
Armed with over 10 years in global retail experience within megalithic luxury corporations, fashion and retail is one of the areas in which Claire appears to be possessed of the Midas touch.
“I am passionate about pairing people with brands that make them happy to shop and embellish their lives. I also love to work with brands and designers who go the extra mile to ensure their sourcing is fair and partner well with producers,” says Claire.
With labels such as Maissone, Frankitas, Cote and Badt and Maison by Amanda Dyer, expect to shop a curated selection of threads, accessories and home goods that ease and accentuate life in the tropics. “Everything has been chosen to compliment the demands and needs of the tropical climate that will also inject a sense of style to what we wear and choose to surround ourselves with,” says Claire. And to show you just what we mean by a one-stop shopping experience, we’ve picked out just some of the many choice pieces you’ll find at the pop-up. To be sure, homemakers, tourists, corporates and eco warriors alike will find something to delight over at The Attaby Collective.
