If you think Fall/Winter is just a sea of blacks and greys, think again. This year, we’ve seen explosions of dramatic prints on the runway from every collection; prints that some of us may only associate with Spring/Summer.

Designers have taken the blissful elements of Spring and the warmth of Summer and added them to their Fall/Winter collections.

Case in point: Dark florals. From Dries Van Noten, Dolce & Gabbana to Marni, intricate flowers were sewn with opulent shades – all on lengthy hemlines.

Clash of fabric prints and textures were also seen on the collections of Haider Ackermann, Chloe, and Marc Jacobs respectively. Ackermann and Jacobs showcased big and small lines and shapes while Chloe brilliantly stitched fabric patches.

The key to making this trend work? Balance. If you go heavy on prints, keep the rest of your look minimal.
