It is often said that fashion is a mirror of the time in which we live. How then, do fashion designers stay ahead of the curve? Perhaps the answer to that question can be found within SG Next50: Fashion Futurism – an exhibition showcasing 50 crafted looks that forecast Singapore’s fashion trajectory over the next 50 years.
Organized as part of Singapore’s 50th birthday celebrations, SG Next50: Fashion Futurism will display 50 looks created by a pool of 5 talented Singaporean designers – Max Tan (max.tan), Pauline Lim (PAULINE.NING), Kenny Lim (DEPRESSION), Francis Cheong (Francis Cheong) and Chiang Xiao Jun (Pleatation). Each designer’s individual collection reflects his or her unique vision and pays tribute to Singapore’s fashion: past present and future.
Take a peek behind the creative development processes and the inspiration behind these special collections. Or simply collect ideas to boost your future wardrobe. Our first glimpse of the collections on the Orchard Fashion Runway tells us it’s going to be a real treat!
