Given we are talking colour, it is quite apt that a florist is in the news. Dempsey Hill just got a whole lot prettier (and more colourful mind you) with its newest addition. Flower Girl has opened a brand new studio to house their blooms and Annie Sloan Chalk Paint™ under one roof, just above Rouge (also enter through Rouge).
Offering the most heavenly vintage and rustic blooms using Australian native flowers and European blooms, Flower girl’s style is much like its founder, Catherine; relaxed and utterly gorgeous. Bouquets generally feature hard to find Australian natives such as Leucadendron, Kangaroo paw and King and Queen Protea. Yes, a long way from home, but we assure you they are as fabulous as you’d find them at Sydney Flower Markets.
An inspired space bathed in beautiful light, the Flower Girl studio is just begging for a visit! Whether you are planing a wedding or just want to surprise a loved one with a gorgeous hand-tied bouquet, Flower Girl will bring any private home, bespoke event or special occasion to life. You can even drop by and within minutes you can have your own bespoke bouquet whipped up before your very eyes by Catherine or sous-Flower Girl Mandy.
Beyond handcrafted bouquets and floral arrangements, you will also find Annie Sloan’s Chalk Paint™ in store. Named for its matte, velvety finish, this wonderful innovation is a lifesaver for spaces in need of a modest overhaul. A few simple coats of chalk paint is all you need to transform your tired old furniture into vintage chic magazine-worthy works of art.
The studio also plays hosts to a series of creative workshops including the ever popular “Flower School” and Annie Sloan Chalk Paint™ Workshop. Learn how to select flowers and foliage and put together a beautiful bouquet or floral centrepiece that encapsulates your heartfelt messages to friends, family and the people that are special to you. You can read all about the Annie Sloan Chalk Paint™ workshop that our own Founder Renée Lodens attended.
