Patterns and colour dominated the Spring/Summer 2015 shows and had us drooling and dreaming about how our wardrobes would benefit. If like us, you’re tired of the solids and stripes that are on your current rotation, consider adding some bold patterns to the mix. Dress head to toe in a gorgeous floral or dare to embrace the current style revival of clashing patterns. Why fly under the radar when you can go noticed, right?
It has long been heralded that fashion is about self-expression, and the graphic print numbers that have joined the runway in recent years are perfect examples. Not for the faint hearted, the right graphic print creates a statement piece that turns the body into a walking artwork. Digitally printed pants, jackets, shirts and shoes are easy additions to the wardrobe. Be daring and wear the same print for the whole ensemble or easily pair your item with any matching colour.
Tip: If your shirt or top is the focal point, pare down your make up!
Florals isn’t really a trend per se. This flowery design has dominated the runways and racks year upon year. Nevertheless, the colourful blossom always finds a new way to reincarnate itself. From feminine florals in muted hues to boho inspired maxis and kaftans, floral prints are here to stay and this year, they’re big and bold! Add a pop of floral to your wardrobe with an amazing floral jacket, pant or skirt or get experimental by mixing and matching the print for a show-stopping look.
Tip: They’ve hit the stores in this years other hot trend – the semi bare midriff.
When it comes to animal print, a little goes a long way. While we don’t advise going head-to-toe with these classic prints, they’re amazing outfit additions. Leopard print, the leader of all the animal prints in the fashion world is perfectly paired with a simple jean and white tee or monochrome office attire. Think of an oversized leopard print clutch, a high pump, or scarf to add that little bit of something something to your outfit. Snake print is another style frontrunner for clothing and accessories, with a colour scheme and design that is incredibly easy to match.
