Dress for the Tropics in Fall | Travelshopa

With our Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest feeds teeming with runway and New York and London Fashion Week street style photos, we’ve been inspired to work out how to wear the latest fall trends in the tropics. The easiest way to do this is through colour! This season there are three fall colours that seem to keep crossing paths with the fashion world and its savvy stylemakers and here is how you can wear them, pronto!

This season, grey has been spotted on nearly everyone and it’s easy to see why. Grey is a lovely neutral that can be easily dressed up or down to suit the occasion.  For a day at the office try a grey shift dress with some feature heels. To glam the dress up for a quick transition to an ‘out for dinner’ look, pile on some sparkly bracelets and some lippy and you’re ready to go. Grey is also perfect for a casual, relaxed yet chic look. Pair a grey t-shirt over white or denim bottoms, add a statement pair of sunglasses and hit the streets. Another fantastic grey tropical-weather staple to add to your wardrobe is a grey maxi. Whether you’re into a pleated look or high slits to show off your tanned legs, you can’t go wrong with the versatile maxi.

Burgundy is a strong colour, perfect for the confident and bold woman. What we love about this deep wine red is that it can be styled to suit a variety of looks ranging from ladylike to rebel. If you want an edgier look try combining burgundy with black, leather or a chunky heel. For a more feminine classic look try pairing a strong burgundy midi skirt with a tailored shirt and simple jewellery.  Burgundy is also a great colour to layer on. A light blazer in a gorgeous tone of burgundy is perfect for chilly air-conditioned rooms  or adding interest to an understated dress. Finally, for those who just want to add a subtle hint of burgundy into their wardrobes, try a pair of burgundy pumps, a great burgundy handbag or a wine lip or nail.

Whether you’re into a softer grey blue or a brighter powder blue, this colour is perfect for a chic, feminine look. Eggshell blue can be paired with many colours and the results are almost always stunning. For a striking work outfit, try an eggshell blue skirt paired with a navy or white shirt or a powder blue shirtdress with simple heels. Eggshell blue is great for a feminine look that is perfect for our tropical climate; we love the idea of incorporating the colour into a midi skirt or flowing summer dress look. Eggshell blue lace is always a winner in our books, whether you wear it as a dress or skirt, it’ll be a definitive look that will carry you from day to night.
