On a calm mildly topical evening, we are found in an illuminated luxurious white marque listening to the chilled-out beats of local Singaporean DJ Shigeki. Where else could we be other than The Grey Goose Guild; the second instalment of a lifestyle event recognising established and outstanding young artisans who celebrate craftsmanship and passion within the fashion industry.
With the world’s best tasting vodka in hand, we were treated to the talents of three of Singapore’s most promising emerging designers Carrie K, Ong Shunmugam and Menswear Menswear.
Complementing the fabulous bespoke cocktails was the fashion runway oozing with the most inspiring modern classics that advocate customisation and can only be interpreted by the wearer. We were also treated to special designs created especially for TheGrey Goose Guild.

Let’s just say, for Carrie K’s first runway performance she absolutely nailed it! In every way. Carrie K’s clever fusion of artisan-craftmanship with playful provocation results in impressive elegant handcrafted jewellery display. Dozens of tailored pieces for men and women were exhibited in an extraordinary show of heavy metals challenging the traditional notions of jewellery.
We can see why in just a few short years this award winning local brand has be claimed that reputation it has.

Heavily influenced by history and family heritage, Singapore-based womenswear fashion label, Ong Shunmugam, elegantly revives traditional Asian fabrics and cuts.
By perfectly marrying traditionally Asian details and with moderns themes, Ong Shunmugam creates unique, timeless classics that are cerebral yet wearable. Ong Shunmugam’s effortlessly unified key Grey Goose brand themes into her bespoke dress, pants, tops and shorts designs in varying degrees by cleverly playing with the silhouette, colour palette and fabrications of her traditional designs.
In the quest to design functional clothing for men, MENSWEAR MENSWEAR displayed a premier collection of simple, well-tailored yet colourful staples. We were treated to a fun showcase of modern classics – jackets, shirts, shorts and trousers – in a range of fabrics and seasonal colours. MENSWEAR MENSWEAR is all about a confident modern man effortlessly dressing with ease. The Grey Goose Guild collection was inspired by Grey Goose colours and flavours resulting in versatile, sophisticated pieces.
We eagerly await the launch of MENSWEAR MENSWEAR (online store) to help fill the gap in men’s fashion! What more can a man ask for? The option of creating or sharing different looks online, as well as having access to tailor-made services.
Congratulations to all three designers, as well as The Grey Goose Guild for a thoroughly enjoyable and inspiring evening.
